Nope haven’t forgotten about this site yet….I kind of lost my way for a bit with the diet….thought I could do it alone…didn’t need to log food cause I had it all in my little pea brain….if you ever feel this way all I can say is give your head a shake….I had lost 8.9 lbs and ya I ended up gaining about 5 lbs of it back before I smartened up. I’ve about half of that so far.
I’ve boughten myself a new HRM which is awesome…the sites that help you track your calories are great if you don’t have anything else but if you do like a HRM (Heart Rate Monitor) then you realize how far off they are. For example yesterday I went for a bike ride and according to Fitbit I should have recorded 187 calories burned, MapMyFitness says I should have burned 487 calories…my HRM 357. So although it’s ok to under count your calories I am a little OCD about it and have to know exactly where I am at…lol. I can’t wait to record how many calories I am actually burning when I cut the grass. According to most sites the average burn for cutting grass is 6 calories per minute….this doesn’t take into account all the hills I have to climb…rough land etc. When I’m cutting grass I’m huffing and puffing almost as much as my bike ride mentioned earlier only instead of the 20 mins for my bike ride it’s about 2 to 3 hours….yeah me!!!!
Well I’ve finished my coffee now so it’s bike riding time. =)
I know this picture really doesn’t do this chicken justice but let me tell you it is wonderful and very easy to make.
Preheat oven to 350
Put wax paper down on a shallow dish (or use whatever you normally do to keep food from sticking)
Wash your chicken and place it in the dish.
Pour as much salsa as it takes to completely cover the chicken
Put in the oven until cooked approximately 25 mins
Cover with shredded cheese and put back in the oven until melted
Serve and enjoy
Because I am on a diet I don’t add the cheese on mine. If you like spicy foods use medium or hot salsa what ever you prefer.
The calories for this vary depending on the size of chicken you have but I made this the other day without the cheese and for a piece of chicken 4 oz it took about 1/2 cup of salsa to cover it and I still had a little left over. The calories ended up being around 180, can’t go wrong with that =)
Well I’m still here. I bought myself a fitbit and it was one of the best buys I’ve ever made. It has kept me moving like nothing I have ever tried before. It was $100 Canadian with free delivery from Amazon and was here in one day.
I’ve worn it every day and find I am more active now than I have ever been before. I average about 600 to 1000 calories in exercise and have made it to 10,000 steps for the past 8 days. This is one product that gets my two thumbs up rating.
I use this in conjunction with Lose It! on my android phone and desktop. I use Lose It! to log all my food and fitbit to keep track of my calories. The dashboard in fitbit is kind of cool too. It gives you a basic summary of how your day is going. I’ve put an example below.
Well as I’ve said before I’m working weekends so I tend to have a lot of spare time on my hands. So I decided to tidy and spiffy up my vegetable garden. I’m not able to plant a lot of things as the chipmunks and racoons tend to eat everything before it is even grown. So I decided to add a few flowers and stuff and made it all pretty.
This pic above is a farther away shot. At the beginning of the spring there was no border, rough uneven edges and no pretty flowers.
This is down the one side from the front to the back. The black and red is mulch. There are peony trees, iris’s, gerbera daisies and dahalia’s planted down the side of this path.
This is the view from one side to the other side along the back wall. To the left I have rose bushes, dahalias, hibiscus that is a beautiful deep red color. To the left I have peonies.
This little garden used to be where I had my blue soft side pool. My son hardly used it last year so I decided to turn that area into my garden. The black rocks are coal that used to be burned in my sons’s great grandparents tobacco farm. I don’t think i like them there so I’ll probably move them somewhere else. In the middle is a hibiscus that hasn’t come up yet, there are also miniture roses, lilies, and iris’s to name a few.
I’ve been trying a number of different types of fitness apps for my phone and the latest one I’ve tried is MapMyFitness I have to say so far of all the ones that I’ve tried this is the best by far and the best part is that it is free. You can pay for a pro version but unless you want to link it with a couple of other apps you really don’t need to.
I do have it linked with my fitbit but that is available without the paid version. They have other apps as well for running, walking, biking and various others…but they basically all are the same app so I just use this one. When you start a workout with this one you can choose what type of workout you are going to do.
While you are doing your workout it will let you know when you hit the 1 mile mark and every mile after that. It also tells you how fast you did that one and the average of all the miles.
When you are done your workout there will be a summary on your screen that will look like this.
It gives you a little information and a little of your route. If you click on the map it will enlarge on your phone and you can view your route. If you click on the orange rectangle the screen changes to the image below.
This shows the map of your route along with the distance and how many feet in elevation that was gained during your walk.
For a free app I don’t think you will find a better one.
